Dr. Stewart Shofner
Dr. Shofner is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
He is also a member of numerous other professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

While at LSU, one of the top eye medical training programs in the world, Dr. Shofner received comprehensive training in corneal transplant surgery, corneal and external diseases, anterior segment reconstructive surgery, and refractive surgery. He assisted in the first Eximer Laser surgeries performed on sighted patients in the United States.
Dr. Shofner has published 10 separate articles in Ophthalmology Journals and has presented original papers at International Ophthalmology meetings.

Personal Background
Dr. Shofner is originally from Shelbyville, Tenn., where his family has lived since the early 1800s. After serving on the Clinical Faculty at James H. Quillen College of Medicine and as a Corneal Consultant for the Veterans Administration, Dr. Shofner moved back to Middle Tennessee in 1992 and started his private practice.
